Spotlike: Built for business owners who wanted visitors to like their Facebook page.
It's based on the hyped QR codes, which I explored deeply at that time.
All you had to do is type your Facebook page name, and click 'Print', and a PDF would download.
When I moved to the Bay Area I was delighted  to see one of these hanging in Cafe Venetia in Palo Alto.
Me and two colleges were driving electric cars when we worked in Palo Alto. The charging stations were very limited, and it became quite hard to catch an available one before it was taken.
Chargepoint, the charging stations provider, only offered a way to check for station availability on their website.
So I hacked the website's AJAX calls and used it to build an app that alerted us when a nearby station became available.
Our company's oracle for the big question: Where are we having lunch. ROI: 5 monthly hours / employee. Based on employees rating on a Google Sheet and some logics (e.g never suggest a place we visited recently), the oracle locked a daily, indisputable decision.
